Background
Besides providing a means to act on our hope for Eternal Life promised in John 3:16, this
site is about preserving traditions from parent or grandparent to his children or
grandchildren. It's about thinking about ancestors you've never met, and thereby
honoring them. Is this not what we do when we read the stories of faithful men
and women of the Bible? Yes, of course. Although this activity, this act of
respect, is unassailably biblical, it's largely ignored these days, particularly
as we become more and more busy. The sad fact is thinking about ancestors or
departed loved ones is no longer actively advocated.
One is not taught about Christian Saints in many denominations, other than to be
told that we are all "saints" (small "s") if we are born again. Certainly, a "saintly"
father or mother is closer to the child than the "Saints" of the New Testament
and Christians of all denominations think about these "saints". So, it seems the
difference between the various Christian views here is insignificant.
Nevertheless, it should please Christians of all denominations to know that the foundational ideas
behind the Heaven's Mail concept are wholly biblical, based on the
concept of the golden rule and the "cloud of witnesses" of Hebrews 12:1, in
which we're told that the great men of the past are watching us from above,
and that consequently, we should live differently today. And the golden rule:
ask yourself this question: would you like to be remembered by your descendants?
Of course. Then you should remember your ancestors and remember those who
you'd like to remember you. Therefore, we proudly offer our services to our
clientele and are happy to receive their comments.
Dedication
This site is dedicated to the memory of John Douglass, an Australian software
developer with whom the founders worked for many years. John was an
absolutely trustworthy, dedicated and wholly reliable individual for whom
the founders are very thankful.
Unfortunately, John died suddenly during the earliest stages of development of
the Eterna Link system.
Given John's utter reliability, we have no doubt that,
as always, he's busily working with us, from his place in Heaven, laying down the communications infrastructure required to
facilitate our services. His presence here on Earth will be sorely missed, but his efforts will never be forgotten.
