The Power of Creating Lasting Memorials
Creating a memory book is a brilliant way to honor a departed loved one. It may be created in the form of a hard copy or it can be an ever-growing document, thanks to the advancements of technology and the internet. Whichever way is chosen, these books provide a lasting memory that can be referenced for countless years to come.
There are numerous ways that a virtual and interactive memory book may be compiled. A family member may begin with a memoir of the loved one’s life from start to finish. It is therapeutic to record memories and stories that evoke smiles, tears, and a huge sense of pride. These accounts can either be contributed via printed word or by recording the memory in audio form which conveys emotion in a much more accurate manner.
Another way to learn even more is to invite other family members, friends, church family members, and anyone else who knew the loved one to share stories and other recollections they have. Family memories may give new insight into other areas of their loved one’s life. It’s always valuable for the people who share these stories to contribute photographs and other memorabilia that may be incorporated in the memory book such as movie or concert ticket stubs, old invitations or letters, and possibly an old journal. There is no limit to what can be included in the memory book because it is a unique illustration of an individual which can never be duplicated.
The goal is to compile lasting memories while fostering a flame in people to always remember the wonderful collection of positive attributes the loved one leaves behind. Future generations will not have to wonder who a person was even if they never had the opportunity to meet him or her. The memories of a vibrant life will live on forever.
