In memory of Our beloved Sister: Ms. Abosede Okunuga (nee Macaulay) was born on Sunday October 31, 1965 in Lagos Nigeria to Late Most Senior Apostle Gabriel Akintaro Macaulay and Mrs. Juliana Aina Macaulay. She grew up and had her education in Lagos, Nigeria. She worked in Yaba College of Technology as a Telecommunication Associate for 15 years. In 2000, she married Mr. Abiodun Okunuga and subsequently relocated to the United States in 2003. As at time of death, Abosede (aka Bose) lived in Yonkers, WestchesterCounty NY and worked as a Nursing Assistant at Blythedale Children's Hospital, ValhallaNew York.
She was a vivacious and free-spirited person who cherished life and loved to celebrate it. Bose had positive characters that endeared her to so many in her generosity and openness; you could always count on her to tell you the truth without mincing words. Really a joyful person to associate with; it is sad she had to leave us so soon. Worthy of notation is her apparent closer relationship to God Almighty towards the end of her years as more of her times were spent in prayers and fellowship.
Left behind to keep her cherished memories alive are: her son Tomi Adewunmi, her mother, siblings, friends, and families: aunties, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Bose dear, we love you but God evidently loves you more. Rest in Him till we meet to part no more at the feet of Jesus.
Psalm 48.14: For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
Bosemust have meant something to each and every one of you in this room. We have lost such a great person and I think sharing our grief would help us ease the burdens. As a friend to most of us here, I believe Bose was darling to everyone. She always found time to talk to or be with friends.
Let’s just be thankful for all the special moments we had with Bose. And I hope we would remember Bosefor the good memories she shared with us. It is better to reflect on the past times [with Bose] with happiness and laughter, than with tears and sadness. I know she is in Heaven at this very moment. Boseleft many things undone and others that she never had a chance to start. But I will do my best to accomplish her important goals.
And I hope we would all learn something from this death: If you call a loved one and he/she takes too long to return your call, please have someone to check if he or she is okay. Seeing my Sister lying on her living room floor is the worst feeling of my life, and it is one image I will never forget. Please, don’t let this happen to you.
Our sincere appreciation to everyone who attended Bose's funeral and burial services. We also thank Friends,Visitors, and Family Members who express tributes on this site. God Bless You All!
.....updates & more of Bose's photo albums would be uploaded as soon as possible.
