In Memory of Amanda
This poem is dedicated to my daughter Amanda Whom everybody knows as our little Panda The memories of you will always live on Even though I can't see you and you are gone
We had many fun times with you that were a blast Those times are now only in the past I will always remember your beautiful smile Even though it had only lasted a little while
I can remember like it was yesterday How I feel in words alone I can not say Many times I look for a sign that you're okay I find myself waiting for that everyday
The night that you were born was a night that will stick forever What you had to go through and endeavor You were a fighter and that is true I can remember you would still be happy even when your lips were blue
It didn't matter what it took to get you better Whether it was a phone call or writing a letter You definitely would fight your way every minute The world was a better place because you were in it
Your Daddy races with you on his mind We know you watch over him all the time God only knows what you would have to say The number on his car reads 9A The logo on his truck says AMZ I guess you would say that's crazy You went several places and had plenty of pals Of course Grandmom said you have her eye brows She loves you more all the time She says you were her one and only sunshine
When you were finished in Bel Air you went booking You figured it was time to go to Mom Mom Sally's for cooking You knew Potato Bud mashed potatoes were just a fake If you wanted a good breakfast, you would go to Aunt Neanne's for a pancake She tried so hard to be quiet in the morning not to wake you Aunt Neanne didn't care; God only knows what she went through
Remember always going to get food and you pushing the shopping cart I can remember you would want everything while shopping with Uncle Mark He wouldn't even dare to take things out, that's something he couldn't bare You could buy everything he just wouldn't care He knew you would get in one of your moods He was smart enough to buy you all of your favorite foods
You may have not went to school with prom Queens and Kings It didn't matter to us; you were our Angel with wings There were plenty of things that you went through Can you remember the time that Uncle Gary filled your dolls diaper with poo poo?
Before you knew it you hadn't even got your clothes unpacked Aunt Lisa had to sleep not in the good house but in the shack The house was very old and I think it was made from logs Poor Aunt Sue had to mate Cookie with four other dogs
Before you know it you were on the phone Poor Uncle Johnny had to sleep alone You wanted the bed with only you and Aunt Sue You didn't care what Uncle John had to do
I can remember little Johnny going to Atlanta with you Remember him trying to get in the garage that's was something we coulnd't do I think he was one of your number one fans Seeing his face light up in the stands
A lot of times you would say you didn't care less I remember the time Aunt Sue had to buy you a Cinderella Dress Every thing you done you done with a plan Remember Uncle Sam; the tear cup man
Everything you done was pretty hip Remember the time we tricked Pop on taking everyone on a trip You started a tradition that no one would loose Every year he takes us on a cruise
Your sister Ashley wanted her own room with a twist You wanted to sleep with her that's something you would insist She loved you so much words speak for them self Can remember the times you guys dress up like an elf
Kristine loved you so much she said you were such a dear She figured she would follow your dream career Stephen has love for you like you would never believe He brings you beautiful flowers for you to receive
You would dress up like you were ready for Hollywood I remember the time Tom and Cliff would carry you through Wildwood Everyone loves you so much sometimes it hard to face it Dustin loved you so much he ordered everyone a bracelet
All of your cousins will remember you forever The times they shared with you that they will always treasure The family has been blessed having you in our lives Your beautiful face and big brown eyes The most wonderful thing was to see your wish come true Not too many people can say that I'm sure there are few The thrill of seeing everyone's face with a grin Hearing you say "Gentlemen Start Your Engine"
It's hard to believe it and what it would be This February 25th you'll be 23
Amanda is our beautiful Angel, she as pretty as a dove She remains in our hearts, but lives up above
