OBITUARY
Anthanasia Edem Nutsuakor was born on October 6, 1929 to the union of Rev. W.E. Nutsuakor and Victoria Amegashie, she was the last of four children. She was privileged to attend Holy Cross Secondary School but in the middle of her school days, she had to transfer to the Holy Cross Teachers Training College. She became a teacher after graduation.
Few years after school she was introduced to Master P. C. Ayivor, the then Supervisor of Schools in the Volta Region, by Prophet C.K.N. Wovenu. Out of the union two children were born to Master P.C. Ayivor. She later got married to Mr. Enoch Tsodemeku and had three children from that marriage during which Mr. Tsodemeku died while she was pregnant with the third child. For the next 40 years, she never married, but stayed to herself and led a very quiet and reserved yet dignified, and godly life.
She taught in many schools in various locations including, New Tadzewu, Wuti, Adidome, Dzodze and Accra. In Kotobabi she became “Head Mistress” at K4, K7 and K8 for many years. She later worked at the Ministry of Education where she retired from the field of professional education. She has always been helpful to so many and expected nothing in return.
Anthanasia Edem Nutsuakor looked for her God and prayed constantly. She has been a member of the Apostle Revelation Society, a Catholic, a Pentecostal, a Presbyterian, a Baptized Seventh Day Adventist, and lastly a member of the Assembly of God church. My childhood memories of her invokes thoughts of prayer and singing, her favorite song being Hymn # 40 from the E. P. Hymnal. Psalm 70 is her favorite, prayer, which she memorized and prayed repeatedly. On the 15th Day of July, 2009; after a short illness, she lapsed into her eternal rest in the Lord. She was preceded in death by both parents and three siblings: - Mr. Pilot Nutsuakor, Esie Nutsuakor, Monica Nutsuakor and two children: - Founder Ayivor and Korkor Tsodemeku.
She leaves to mourn her four children, Rev. Dr. Divine Ayivor A.K.A. “Bubune”, Esther Bedzrah, Tina Fiadzo and our big Sister Evelyn Sorlivi Seddoh, a host of cousins, nieces, grand children:- Parsi Florl, Esinam Amedzekor, Selasi Amedzekor, Dzorgbenyuie Amedzekor, and great grand children.
May she Rest In Peace while we await her resurrection at the First Trumpet Call, when the dead in Christ shall rise being glorified by Jesus Christ our Lord. “Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from hence forth.’ “Yes,” says the Spirit. “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.” Revelation 14:13 |
