A little about Delcia and her life:
Grandmother was born in a small farming town of Ohiowa NE, March 10, 1918. She married James Philip King in her 20’s and they divorced some years later. Delcia remarried to Al Zeeb, who she was very happy with. The grandchildren would call him poppy. Delcia outlived both husbands. She resided in Santa Barbara, Ca for over 20 years. Moved in with her daughter Camy Sheck in 1988: they all moved to Encinitas that year. She has lived in Encinitas ever since.
She was very proud of her German Heritage: She liked blood sausage, Oktoberfest and a mug of beer once in while didn't hurt either. Her favorite color was blue. She loved her Chihuahua Nicky. She used to joke around because her mother and her sister moved to the city when she was young and became City Girls. They would go back home and visit their family in Ohiowa and she laughed at how people used to look at them: she was all dressed up and city like. Her mother married a man named Schufeldt and bore Coral Delcia’s younger brother. She outlived her sister Frances Hadsall and her brother Coral Schufeldt.
Words that can describe Delcia: 1. Strength: She was a business woman during an era when that was frowned upon. She was a single mom, when single mothers were frowned upon. 2. Fun: She could outrace a truck driver downhill. She could out race a Sports Car in a station wagon. She loved speed. She really enjoyed having fun in her car. It was said that a Lead Foot was a family gene. 3. Love: Delcia loved her girls: She would look at the pictures and would say how beautiful her girls are. Her youngest daughter Camy Sheck took care of Delcia from 1988 until now 2007. 4. Outgoing: She would talk to anyone that walked by, she was not shy. She was intelligent and enjoyable to talk to. She would join clubs such as Welcome Wagon; in earlier years join Church activities (Lutheran Missouri Synod). She loved to be active. She would take off on a moments notice: to anywhere in the country, most often with her daughter as well as friend Camy Sheck.
She gets to go home now and be with loved ones waiting for her with their arms open and ready to party. In the scriptures it says “What is bound on earth is also bound in heaven” Well I hope they have a masarati up there ready for her to race?” She definitely is bound for racing and fun. She lived life to its fullest:
She had 4 Beautiful daughters. Delcia F. (King) Hoffman Lopez, Ellen Patience King, Mary Margaret (King) Morales, Camillus Rose (King) Sheck: Delcia Zeeb had 11 Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Four Great-Great-Children: She truly left behind a legacy that will live for ages in our hearts as well as our minds.
