Like a candle in the wind, you shone in our lives, loving, caring, giving and chiding. You were a riddle in a puzzle; a paradox; a lesson in words and opposites; A repository of family information; involved in everyone’s life, giving, sharing, annoying and caring. You were full of adventure with the memory of an elephant; You were supporting of others; giving and giving to your own hurt. But in all this you were a friend’s friend, a Sisters’ Sister and a much beloved Aunty. We loved you warts and all. Though death separates us, we shall not forget... How can we forget, those tender happy moments before the storm of life... How can we forget all you taught us, all your sacrificial love, the wriggles, songs, gifts and the sad moments? How can we forget Aunty Chimama and the telephone, keeping in touch gisting and billing? How can we forget the story of a life, a life full of life, exuberance and charm; a life afflicted with so much pain and sorrow; A life that fought and defeated pain; A life lived to the fullest!
