Edward J. Ebeling was born to the late George and Josephine (Van Lorynen) Ebeling on Thursday; May 11, 1916. In 1937, he married Margaret Malcore. She preceded him in death in 1965. Ed then married Mary Frelich Ledvina, who preceded him in death in 1995. As a teenager, Ed worked at Zimonick Gardens in Green Bay, starting with picking vegetables and then as office manager. He later started E-Z Transfer moving company with A. Zehms. After buying out Zehms, Ed's company became E & E Trucking. He delivered for WG& R, Montgomery Wards and Sears after which he retired in 1977. Ed loved fishing and hunting at his cottage at Crooked Lake and perch fishing on the bay. He was an avid sports fan, especially of baseball and still knew the starting line-up for several teams. Ed was a charter member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He was a loving husband and father, especially caring for Mary during her illness. Edward J. Ebeling, 90, of Green Bay passed away Saturday; January 27, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Those left to mourn his passing are one brother, George Ebeling, Green Bay; step-daughters, Elaine (Homer) Granius, Florida and Marilyn (Gerald) Watzka, Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Mary Salm, Paula (John) Smits, Jerry (Jane) Watzka, James (special friend, Sherri) Watzka, Jean (Paul) Redmon, John (Molly) Watzka and Joan (Peter) Jindra; 12 great-grandchildren. Ed is also survived by special friend, Yvonne and her children; brother-in-law, George Frelich, Manitowoc and sister-in-law, Marcella Frelich, Maribel. Besides his parents and wives, Ed was preceded in death by one sister, Edith Hetzel. May they rest in peace. Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Thursday; February 1, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again of Friday; February 2, 2007 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at Saint Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane. Parish wake service 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Friday; February 2, 2007 at the church with Rev. David Pleier officiating.
