In Memory Of Esther Garcia Herrera

Esther Garcia Herrera, 71, passed away quietly in her home on December 17, 2007.

Born to Francisco Garcia and Delfina Galvan Garcia in Crystal City, Texas on March 19, 1936. She was delivered by her father Francisco at home. She was raised in Dallas, Texas by her loving parents along with her nine brothers and sisters.

Esther married, relocated to Michigan and finally to California where she was a long time resident of San Bernardino County. She was employed as a state social worker, active in politics, and business owner throughout her working career. She retired and loved to stay at home gardening, knitting and taking care of her treasured grandchildren.

Mom was known to family and friends by her soft spirit and gentle breeze-like presence. We are grieving the loss of our beloved mother, sister and friend and at the same time finding a peace that passes all understanding knowing that as she fell asleep Sunday evening she awoke in the glorious presence of Jesus, her Savior; the strength of her life. It is through the strength of our Lord that she lived her life, loved her children and opened her home and extended her heart to neighbors.

There will be a void in our hearts... please fill it with Jesus, His word and your own personal treasures and memories of mom. I know I have many.

Mom was preceeded in death by her son: Thomas Herrera, father Francisco Garcia Sr., mother Delfina Galvan Garcia, brothers: Celso Garcia, Emilo Garcia and sister, Rosa Villanueva.

She is survived by sons: Fernando Daniel Herrera, Rene Herrera; daughters: Tina Marie Lopez, Dee Walter and Victoria Guiterrez; brothers: Abraham Garcia, Francisco Garcia Jr., sisters: Marcolfa Fatzinger, Elvira Salinas, Marianita Gonzales and Aurora Franco; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
