In memory of Father John B. Tabb, TABB, an American priest and teacher in St. Charles College, Maryland, and a poet. Prior to becoming a priest, Father Tabb served as captain's mate on a blockade-runner in the Civil War. His poetry was short, but thoughtful and clever. Here are two of them:

RECOGNITION

When Christ when up to Calvary,
His crown upon His head,
Each tree unto its fellow-tree
In awful silence said:
"Behold the Gardener is He
Of Eden and Gethsemane!"

OUT OF BOUNDS

A little boy of heavenly birth,
But far from home to-day,
Comes down to find His ball, the Earth,
That Sin has cast away.
