Iletta Mae Messer was born May 4, 1931, in Erick, Oklahoma, to Stella Augusta (Johnson) and Solon Houston Wester. She passed away April 27, 2006, at her home in Cedar Hill, Texas, at age 74. She had suffered for approxamently 15 years with Progressive Supranucular Palsy. Iletta married Jerry W. Messer on January 20, 1962. She is proceeded in death by her parents, and three grandchildren, Joshua, April, and Taylor Messer. Iletta is survivied by her husband, Jerry Messer; daughter, Karla Edwards and husband Stephen; son; Jerry Messer, Jr. and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Kaylyn, Emily, Zachary Messer; a sister and two brothers. Iletta was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Her grandfather was a charter member of the Erick Church of the Nazarene, in Oklahoma. She worked for a few years at the First National Bank until her and Jerry's daughter was born. She stayed at home and raised their two children until their son was in high school. Iletta returned to work for the First National Bank until she was diagnosed with Progressive Supranucular Palsy.
Even though she progressivly worsened over the years, she always had a beautiful, happy, additude. She laughed at so many things when she could have been crying instead.
Iletta believed in Jesus and his saving power. Here on earth she no-longer could walk, now in heaven she is running. Here on earth she could no-longer speak but a few soft words, now she is singing with the angels. We will greatly miss your laughter and the wiggling of your finger. |
