Daddy's Prayer
In the Hospital
Here Jacob lies without a sound.
I pray God's angels gather round.
I don't know what to do or say.
God, watch over our son; he wants to play.
At his Passing
Today we lay our son to rest.
As parents we did our very best.
Our son so sweet, I'll miss his smile.
We only had him for awhile.
I'll miss his face and his goo-goo talk.
I wish I'd seem him learn to walk.
I'll never forget my baby boy.
I'll cry every time I see a baby toy.
I don't know why God took my son away.
I pray for the strength I need each day.
We'll see you again in Heaven's light.
So good-bye, son. Good night. Good night.
