James Avent
James Lee Avent was born on October 2, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois to Pearlie M. (Avent) Lewis and James Carr who preceded him in death.

James accepted Christ at an early age uniting with Original Holly Art Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Sammy Davis. Later James united with Sweet Holly Spirit under the pastorate Bishop D. Trotter. Both he and his wife attended the 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. service, James attended faithfully until his death.

James affectionately known as Charlie had attended Horace Mann Elementary School and South Shore High School. A Plumber Certificated was obtained from Dunbar High School.

His sweet heart of twenty-six years James married Shearvon Pierce on January 22, 2005. Prior to marriage they conceived three children: Wendy, Alexandria and Charles.

James had many talents one which everyone know about was his love for singing. As a teenage he helped formed a grouped called Phase IV which later became the Four Romance.

James worked for Hardy & Sons Plumbing Company, American Plumbing Sewage, Andy & Sons Plumbing Company, Goodwin & Sewage Company and later he was able to start his own business Charlie’s Plumbing & Sewage.

James went home to be with the Lord December 26, 2007 at 1:40 a.m.

James leaves to cherish in loving memories his wife Shearvon Avent, two daughters: Wendy and Alexandria, and one son Charles, three grandchildren: Markila, Arieyana, Charles Jr. His mother Pearlie (Herbert) Lewis, two sisters: Sonia Lewis, Seattle, WA; LaDonna Bush; four brothers: Anthony Avent, Marcus Lewis, Denver, CO; Kenneth Geiger, Ryan Carr. He also leaves to cherish his memories, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Great Aunts, Great Uncles, a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends to numerous too mention.
