Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 14:27
How blessed we are to have lived with you for the time we had together. You truly were an Angel on earth, I Thank God for sharing you with me. Love Ya Mom
Miss Jennai RaQuel Jennette (SHUG) was tall, lean, dark complex, beautiful and had a smile to die for. A kind spirit, trustworthy, loyal and genuine, definately one of a kind. A true friend to the end. Jennai has three younger siblings, whom she took everywhere she went. Not like most children who don't want their siblings hanging out with them. Jennai would come home from school put her baby sister in the stroller, get her lil brother and tell me," see ya later where going around the corner". Kwas was old enough to just tag along. :)
Jennai was a volunteer at Killeen Head Start, on the Step Team, the Volleyball Team, Yearbook Staff and Track Team at Killeen Middle School. Prior to my marriage and us moving around with the US Army Jennai did praise dance with the Revelators, cheered with the Eagles and she also ran track for The Mount Vernon Boys' & Girls' Club. You name it Shug did it!
Jennai was the girl in the halls that people radiated around. Many where drawn to her smile and the way she made them feel special, others were drawn to her beauty and the caring nature in her heart, or the hyper tall girl telling the teachers what to do. A young lady wise beyond her years. Jennai was such a loving person. Many loved her and disliked her at the same time. They would get mad because Jennai came home and told EVERYTHING!! If she could wait until the end of the day, that young lady would call from school to inform me of information. She would have me talk to her friends that felt no one cared or would listen. Jennai was alot like me just honest, even if it hurt. I know that is why she had respect, admiration and love from her peers which showed through the house full of company we always had. We will meet again........
Jennai passed away suddenly, a freak accident. Something we did without regards to anyone getting hurt. We would let the children ride on the back bumper of the explorer. How dumb now, but they had fun back then. Well, Me not knowing the luggage rack on top of the SUV should be maintained and things like tightend, well after a trip to NY. I let the children joy ride as usual and this night the luggage rack just came off, the four of them that were holding onto the luggage rack fell from the rear bumper. Thank God only one of them passed away ( it could have been even worse) from this tragic event, the others were hurt from the accident but nothing requiring a Dr., when we received the truck back from CSI Jennai was the only one that never put her hands down to break her fall, she had tried to find somthing to grab and hold. So my daughters handprint was on the window and then two sliding prints down the glass. She never tried to brace herself...........She never put her hands down.:(..........
From the moment people heard of the news, the house stayed full. A couple of days later the church was filled with people to show their last respects. We had a very rainy day (tears from heaven).. So many people showed up it was overflowing outdoors, showing me how loved my daughter truly was. We heard so many wonderful happy stories about Jennai that made me smile knowing she was so loved and well liked, a perfect peace. Jennai was then flown home, Mt. Vernon, NY to have another homegoing service that was just as huge as the first. We also had those tears from heaven in NY. I know it was just God washing away the past making room for the present.
The rain fell in my life for years and years. But it was like a summer rain with sunshine and warm outdoors. A reminder that although it may seem like a rainy day, it was still a beautiful day. Kinda like trouble don't last always, look through the tears and enjoy the memories. Look through the rain and enjoy the SON.
