Kathi Lightsey was one of the strongest people I ever knew. Her life could be difficult and at times, unreasonably cruel. However, she remained positive even during the worst of times. For the most part, Kathi found joy in this life, by never forgetting the beautiful things or the precious moments that are all around us.
None of them, as beautiful or precious as Kathi herself.
Her friends and family meant the world to her. Kathi's kindness and compassion made everyone around her feel at ease. She was thoughtful and understanding beyond her years, often being the shoulder to cry on for anyone in need.
Her legacy, while brief, is one of love and caring for her family, her friends and those around her. She was an angel who brought sunshine to the dark and love where before, there was only despair.
It is during times such as these when we search for an understanding of how someone like Kathi could be taken before she saw the fruition of her tireless struggle to establish a life for herself. But, it is during times like these that we need to stand in the face of our shaken faith and believe that God's wisdom serves Kathi in a way that only a true angel should be taken care of.
When our time on this earth has ended, we can be assured that Kathi will be there to greet us and show us the love and compassion she showed us in her time here. Until that day however, there will never be a moment we don't wish we could tell her how much we love her just once more.
We are better for her being in our lives.
If you are here, it is because you loved Kathi Lightsey. It is my hope that you will share some of your fondest memories here to help those that are trying to come to terms with the untimely passing of such a wonderful soul.
God Bless you Kat, I will never forget what we shared.
