Graduations of a Lifetime
Watching your eyes light the room
So little, so young, filled with dreams as you
Accepted your diploma. That was the first in your life,
Preschool…such great times…
The time has come to watch you again
In a display of achievement
So happy, so alive, the acceptance of life
And all of its possibilities, reaching out to receive
A grand prize of esteem…
Kindergarten…such great times…
There you are standing in the line, not sure what lies ahead,
But so hopeful, so amazed, walking to procure the time at hand,
5TH grade…such great times…
In red and white upon the greens, I watched your face beam with
Such accomplishment, as you walked and they called your name,
Tears fell down like rain, so proud, so impressed,
Pursuing your dream,
High school Graduation…such great times…
It happened on a Tuesday in May, that all of our dreams were dashed away,
There you are fighting for life, giving it your all as you had done in life,
So helpless, so peaceful, watching you as you accepted your last reward,
To fly away home to be with your Lord.
The Graduations of your life
I was there to witness them
As you move on to everlasting life
My Sweet nephew, I thank you and I cherish your life…
Such great times…
