It seems to me, his son, that michael had very few if any deep relationships.

As far as I can tell, he passed as he lived, alone. I don't know that he minded, perhaps he was happy all alone, attending classes by day and watching the stars by night.

He had one neighbor that was his friend it seems. A beautiful but unfortunate woman, afflicted by addictions. Her name was Olga. She told me that she would check on my dad from time to time and clean for him. That they were freinds and that he had introduced her to books. By talking with olga I could tell that she had never been given a chance. She told me that she had never been anywhere or seen anything outside of Corpus. If you've been there, you know that there is not much to see or do.
Then she told me of an evening that she was walking by Michael's house. He was in the yard with his telescope per usual. He called to her, "Hey Olga, wanna see Saturn?". She said "sure" and walked over.

He says, "all right, just put your eye here, close the other eye and look into the eyepiece.

Then she told me about looking into the eyepiece and seeing Saturn with all of its rings. She said that she was in disbeliefe and that she abrubtly stood up and looked at the other end of the telescope. Michael laughed and asked what was wrong. Olga told him that she thought he was tricking her and that he had put a picture at the other end. "then" she said " I looked again and I could still see it. It was so beautiful" she said. " I have never seen anything like it in my life."
"Your Dad was a good man" she said " he helped people".
