January 12, 2003

After courage’s battle with Cystic Fibrosis Michael Jon Hospodar passed away at home in the loving arms of his mother with his Golden Retriever Rudy by his side.

Michael Jon's short life was filled with the love of his friends and family, the joy of taking pictures, and making video movies. Michael Jon was intrigued with the strength and majesty of the Bald Eagle. Often he would close his eyes and pretend he was an eagle flying high above the ocean surrounded by clouds and he would tell me that he could see things that we could not. I felt it was a privilage to be able to care for him until the very end, and I am honored that God provided the strength for me to do so, and it is only by His grace that joygully I can carry on.

I've yet to find the words that could adequately described how this experience has changed my life, and the lives of those around me.

It will be almost 7 years this January since his death and I still think of him every moment of every day.

However ;I do know that I've become a better person for having had him in my life for that brief time.

I've learned to be more patient, grown kinder and gentler for the most part but understanding everyone can have an off day. I know that compassion is for us all not just the people we think deserve it. Having cared for him in his final hours has given me the courage to know that through God all things are possible.
