In Memory Of Paul (Pop) Edward Zintgraff
Survived By: Three Children, Seven Grand-Children and 2 Great Grand-Children

Dr. Paul Edward Zintgraff passed on one year ago.  He was a consummate educator, father, and husband. The measure of what he leaves behind is unfathomable to his family who misses him and celebrates his life.

Dr. Zintgraff was an educational leader who served as a teacher, superintendent, and professor.  He was Superintendent of Schools in two California communities, La Canada and Palm Springs (1963-1971), before moving to Texas Tech University were he completed his 50 years of service in education.  At Texas Tech, Dr. Zintgraff was Department Chair, teaching doctoral students and helping to shape a new generation of educational leaders.

Dr. Zintgraff retired as Professor Emeritus in 1986 and moved to Henderson, Nevada where he and his wife built a home and lived for twenty years.  A much loved father and husband, he was married to June Rose Zintgraff for 62 years. Typical of the Greatest Generation, Dr. Zintgraff served four years in the Pacific during World War II, most of the time in the front lines.  His stories of the war continually moved his family to tears and appreciation.

Dr. Zintgraff, who shoveled coal from midnight to 5 a.m. for four years to earn his way through college, is remembered by his three children, Cheryl Z. Tibbals of San Francisco, Bonnie B. McNamara of Escondido, and Edward F. Zintgraff of Las Vegas.   He also left behind seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
