Washington, MD, mother-in-law Theresa (Leon) Corbin of Richmond, VA, five sister-in-laws; Trinnette Jennings, Angelynn Phelps, Dionna Jones, Nicole Parish, and Shena Iheukwu, one brother-n-law Donald Williams,foster sister, Kimberly Wiggins of Hampton, VA and loving family friend who accepted him as her big brother, Jarae Jones as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.


This memorial website was created in the loving memory of our beloved Reginald (Reggie) Bazemore who was born in Stanford, CT on the 10th of December in 1969 and who passed away on the 30th of October in 2009. He was 39 years of age.

Reginald Bryant Bazemore at the age of 39 was called home on October 30, 2009 at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC

Reggie, as he was loving referred to, was born December 10, 1969 to loving parents Ms. Willie Garrett Bazemore and Mr. Silas McKoy in Stanford, CT. Reggie was a supportive child to his family and an active church member.

He furthered his religious studies and joined the Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Morris Sheran where he acted as Junior Deacon, Hospitality Treasurer and Junior Usher. He remained active in the church’s youth programs and never denied an opportunity to support those who sought his help.

Reggie attended public schools in Bertie County within Stanford, CT. Specifically he attended West Bertie Elementary School and played football for the local team. He went on to graduate in 1988 from Bertie County High School where he was a member of the BCH Marching Band in the brass section where he played trombone.

Reggie was one never to be idle and furthered his education at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro. NC. Having found careers he enjoyed he was blessed to find love with Treceia Jennings and they were joined in holy matrimony on April 3, 1999, at Israel Baptist Church in Washington, DC.

He enjoyed 10 beautiful years of marriage and continued to be a strong man and faithful friend. Reggie never met a stranger, he was a jolly and optimistic person and helped individuals in his community no matter what the circumstance.

He enjoyed the company of others and engaged individuals in conversation which he merged with his love of the culinary arts. Reggie’s endeavors led to a successful career at many hot spots in the Washington, DC area where he served as an Executive Chef. A few of his well known contributions were with Clyde's Restaurant Group, Hilton Hotels, District Chop House and the National Geographic Building in Washington, DC.

He is survived by his loving wife Treceia, of Washington, DC, his adoring mother Willie of Windsor, NC, his father Silas of Broadway, NC, two brothers James (Suzan) and Lester McKoy, one sister Esther (Robert) Tensley of Stanford, CT, father-in-law Bishop Lewis (Mae) Jennings of Ft. Washington, MD, mother-in-law Theresa (Leon) Corbin of Richmond, VA, sisters-in-law; Trinnette Jennings, Angelynn Phelps, Dionna Jones, Nicole Parish, and Shena Iheukwu, brother-n-law Donald Williams, foster sister, Kimberly Wiggins of Hampton, VA and loving family friend who accepted him as her big brother Jarae Jones as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nephew, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Although the Funeral will be held in Windsor, North Carolina, there will be a Memorial Services held on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 7pm. The service will be held at the Highway Christian Church of Christ located at 432 W Street, N.W., Washington, DC.
