Obituary

Roberta Mae Hagger Williams was born in Beaumont, Texas on April 16, 1951.  She was the oldest of twelve siblings.  Her parents are Robert Jones, Sr. ofBeaumont, Texas and Welthey Huntsberry of Houston, Texas. 

She attended Hebert High School in Beaumont, Texas.  Roberta later moved to Houston, Texas andreceived her Cosmetology degree from Franklin Beauty School in 1976.  She worked as a beautician for many years in salons.  Her dream was realized in 1998 when sheopened her own beauty shop, Essence's of Beauty.    Roberta always strived for perfection andcontinued her education at Texas School of Business.  She graduated in 2003.

At an early age, Roberta accepted Christ.  She was an active member of The Fifth WardChurch of Christ in Houston, Texas under the guidance of Brother ThomasFoster.  She served on the GreetersMinistry and attended Women's Bible Study on a regular basis.   She enjoyed and had a passion for sendingout greeting cards to the sick and shut in.  She always shared the importance of knowing andhaving a strong relationship with God with everyone she encountered. 

Roberta always had a smile and a word of encouragement forothers and always expressed her love. She was caring and considerate, even when she was not feeling herbest.  She passed the qualities of loveand compassion on to her three children Marvin Jones, Michelle Broussard and Welthey Longino-Twitty. 

She is survived by her husband,  Emmitt Williams; children,  Marvin Jones (Zaunda),  Michelle Broussard, Welthey Longino Twitty(Colodis);  parents,  Robert Jones, Sr. (Leanna) of Beaumont, Texasand Welthey Huntsberry  of Houston,Texas;  seven grandchildren , MarquettaJones, Donte Smith, Kristen Carter, Philip Longino,  Jermane Longino,  Jasmine Jones,  Jeremiah Jones;  three great grandchildren,  Alicia, Jeffery and Amari; eleven brothers andsisters;  Robert Jones, Jr.,  Hubert Jones,  Herbert Jones,  Alvin Jones,  Billy Jackson,  Darrell Jones,  Annie Mae Wiley,  Bobbie Patterson,  Irma Landry,  Jackie Jones, Carolyn Jackson,  and a host of uncles,  aunts,  cousins,  nieces,  nephews and other close friends.
