This memorial website was created in the memory of our beloved Ruben Samora who was born in Cherryvale, KS on 1st April 1928 and passed away on 3rd June 2008, 80 years of age. Ruben's parents and siblings, Mabel and Juan, died at a young age, so Ruben, Margarita, and Nicholas found themselves growing up in an orphanage.
Ruben later married Aurora "Geneva" Castorena, along with her three sons, Paul, Louis, and Phillip Perez, from a previous marriage. Together they had seven children, Richard, Gloria, Anna, Victoria, Mabel, Theresa, and Rita.
He was always proud that he was in the military, put himself through college, and raised his family the best way he knew how. Not to mention, helping all of us as much as he could, even if it was just to talk to us, tell us a story, or take us to church.
God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command we return to dust.
Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for my family,
relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.
In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.
Amen.
