This memorial website was created in the memory of our beloved Wendell Eric Wallace who was born in Washington, DC on 21st July 1963 and passed away on 13th March 2009, 45 years of age.

Wendell E. Wallace was one of two children born to Florella and Wendell W. Wallace. He received his early education in the public school system of Washington, DC, and earned his High School Diploma from Anacostia High in 1981.

Wendell continued his education at the University of the District of Columbia and Prince Georges County Community College. A young man and like his father before him, Wendell was always of an inquisitive spirit, constantly taking courses across a wide variety of disciplines in schools of higher learning.

Wendell also enjoyed exercising at Bally's Gym, and fine dining. As a young man he enjoyed mind games such as chess, Monopoly and especially computer games.

Wendell's first job as a teenager was as a volunteer Candy Striper serving the Greater Southeast Community Hospital. In his adult life he worked as a civil servant for several Federal Government agencies including the Federal Communications Commission, and the Government Accounting Office. At the time of his departure from this earthly life he was employed with the United States Department of Treasury.

Wendell received Christ at an early age at the Douglas Memorial Methodist Church and later followed his parents to join Garden Memorial Presbyterian Church in Anacostia, where he served as an usher, GMC choir member, and also assisted in counting Church funds.

Wendell was a kind, loving, and giving man of God. His spirit was quiet, contemplative, and polite. He will be remembered for his grace and humor in all situations. He never had an unkind word and possessed an unusually gentlemanly nature in all interactions. When you spoke with Wendell E. Wallace, you knew there was never a pretense or hidden meaning, just a well thought out and cool response...a listening ear...and a Godly spirit.
